3 Things You Can Do to Be More Grateful this Thanksgiving

Are you ready to have more gratitude this Thanksgiving? Here are some ways I can help.

Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. American Thanksgiving is November 25. We're told to give thanks IN all things (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) and that’s most easily done when we are grateful with our whole heart. Our whole heart is our emotions, our intellect and our actions. We choose to be grateful. We FEEL grateful. We DO SOMETHING with our gratitude - even writing in a journal.

BUT we’re also told that we'll give thanks FOR all things when we're continually filled with Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18–21).

Here's help for you to grow in Gratitude.

3 reasons why Warm Welcome works for any church or business

Warm Welcome is the Bubble, Contact Page, Email Footer and widgets I use on my site to connect with real people in a powerful way.

I've had people ask me about my workflow and products I'd recommend, and there are products and people that make my life better.

The link I'm sharing with you today is an affiliate link, meaning I'll get paid if you purchase. But this is not part of my budgeting, and I'm not relying on any income, I just enjoy this product and think you'll make use of it.

3 reasons why Warm Welcome works for any church or business

Have you seen the Bubble I have on the Negativity Fast Page?

It’s from Warm Welcome. I have an app on my phone and I often get notifications of a video, audio or text message someone has left for me. Responding to them in kind is one of the fun things I get to do.

Our church has bought an account and I can’t be happier to have it on that site I run as well.

3 reasons why Warm Welcome works for any church or business

(1) A friendly face can create trust

Every website needs a friendly face. Warm Welcome can create that experience for people who know you and people who are wanting to know you.

(2) It really connects with people who want to connect.

When people want to connect, it’s easy with video, audio or text, and I’ve come to learn that when someone takes the time to use newer technology THEY REALLY WANT TO CONNECT.

(3) It surprisingly eliminates spam.

I took off off the contact forms on all the sites I run and replaced them with cards, pages and bubbles from Warm Welcome. Overnight spam stopped. Bots aren’t programmed to interact with the video. I was more than overjoyed with that.

Check it out and try it out the new live video chat feature if that’s something you’d like on your site for the ones you’re trying to connect to.

And don't hesitate to contact me using it on my site

How to Enjoy LIFE More: 3 Secrets to Peace and Happiness

How Do You Enjoy Life?

The question is not about how to enjoy life. The question is how to live a life worth living.

No one is exempted from struggles. Even Bible heroes like Moses suffered several challenges in his life.

For this reason, peace and happiness have become challenging goals that every human being seeks. But it is not easy to find.

3 Ways to Achieve a More Peaceful and Happy Life

Achieving a more peaceful and happy life is not an easy achievement. Here are 3 secrets that can help you live a more peaceful and happier life:

1) Pray/meditate

We are taught to

pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NKJV).

And when in trouble, we must not fear and be anxious. But, pray in every situation and present these prayers and requests to the Almighty (Philippians 4:6, NIV).

Praying provides peace of mind. And a peaceful mind leads to a happy life. It’s one of the most powerful forces in the world. Why? Because praying is a gift to mankind to connect with our Maker. Regardless of religion, one simple prayer can turn everything around.

Praying and meditating with God helps us accept everything and develop our sense of fulfillment and direction in life.

2) Embrace what is

In Matthew 6:33-34 (NIV), we are taught not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

God is already there. That's why we don't need to fear the uncertain.

Yes. Whatever you are facing now, someday, it will come to an end.

We all encounter obstacles now and again, but our response defines how we can resolve them. We just need to have faith and think positively.

Here is why you should stay positive about life.

BENEFITS OF POSITIVE THINKING

  • Improves depression
  • Better quality of social relationships
  • Higher quality of life
  • Better coping strategies in times of stress
  • Reduces vulnerability to disappointment

3) Practice gratitude all the time

God woke you up today. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling to know you got another day to enjoy life?

We are blessed for this life. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good…” (Psalm 107:1, NKJV).

Life may be filled with challenges and difficulties, but it’s not all about it. It’s just part of living.

Focus on the good. And be grateful for what you have. No matter how little or much you have, it’s still a blessing.

These are what you experience when you practice gratitude:

  • More positive emotions
  • Feeling of liveliness
  • Better sleep
  • More compassion
  • More kindness
  • Stronger immune system

Ready For a More Enjoyable Life Ahead?

Life is never easy. Happiness and peace start with us. It begins when we decide that we will pursue them.

If you’ve decided to pursue it or are on your way to achieving it, we’d love to hear from you. Share your own secrets.

Let’s make this world a happier and more peaceful place, one person at a time.

Live Light Reflection: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living

You can download the reflection “I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” along with other resources at http://revtrev.link/free

The Lord is my healer. It is the Lord who gives me strength. He helps me rise up with wings as eagles. He helps me run and not grow weary. He helps me walk and not faint. He gives me everything I need for life and godliness. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord is with me. He restores my health and heals my wounds.

I want to enjoy good health so that all may go well with me, even as my soul is getting along well. So, whatever I eat or drink, I eat and drink for the glory of God. I value the value of physical training while I recognize godliness has value for all things. I am not my own, I have been bought with a price. I belong to God. I honour Him with my body.

A joyful heart is good medicine. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I laugh and enjoy those around me. I laugh and I find joy. I laugh at the enemies’ plans to steal, kill and destroy, because God is working all things together for good, bringing life. The life He brings is life to the full.

He empowers me to accomplish every good work prompted by faith. I make the plans, He directs the steps. I trust in Him with my whole heart. I don’t lean on my own understanding. In all my ways, I seek Him and He makes my path straight.

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. I fill my thoughts with His thoughts — thoughts that are for me, not against me — thoughts that give me a hope and future. I am not wise in my own eyes; I fear the LORD and I shun evil.  I know this brings health to my body and nourishment to my bones.

I am still confident in this - I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I will wait for the Lord, I will stay strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Reflection Questions

  1. What do You want me to focus on in the reflection today?
  2. What do You want me to do about it?
  3. Have I prayed and exchanged my problems for Your peace?

2 Things to Always Remember

There are 2 things to always remember in this world of “truth is what I think it is”.

Always Remember God's truth.

Because of it, we never have to doubt. We can know what is right and what is not. This world is so confused. So many people don’t know where to turn. So many people think this life is simply misery. So many people think that there is no point to this existence. But we know two important things that we need to remember-

  1. There is unchanging truth, and therefore an answer to every question. It’s still hard to find answers sometimes, but when we really try, we will find them. We are here to learn.
  2. That unchanging truth that I described in number 1, is quite beautiful. To say the least. The truths we know- the gospel, the good news, hold the secret to healing this world and bringing us peace and constant hope.

Think about what an amazing message we have!! That we have good reason to have all the hope in the world!!

  • That death is not permanent,
  • that we can overcome Satan,
  • that we can find healing,
  • that a loving, merciful God is involved in our lives!

The common theory nowadays is that religion was simply invented by people to find comfort in this dark and dreary world, because what we believe just sounds too good to be true! How amazing then is the fact that it actually is true!!

It’s not just the vain imaginations of our minds. It’s not just wishful thinking. Jesus Christ really did come to the earth. He really did die for us, and he really did come back to life, and so will we!! He will come and build His kingdom. He will make all unjust things right again. As Peter said,

“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” 2 Peter 1:16.

Remember Journals

Probably enough exclamation points for now. But truly, it is simply so important to remember that. To remind ourselves of what we’ve been given.

And that’s why journals are also so important! But more important than just writing in them is to read them, and often!! Record every time you have seen the Hand of the Lord in your life.

How did He help you today? How did He help you through your trials?

We must always remember what amazing things He’s done for us through our journals, and what He has promised us, through God’s Word. As we do, we can always have hope with us. We can let Christ’s light shine through us.
